GRAPHENSTONE UK BRINGS ITS RANGE OF CUTTING-EDGE PAINT COATINGS TO THE SURFACE DESIGN SHOW 2024

Graphenstone UK embraces the 2024 Surface Design Show theme of ‘Mindful Living’ with its innovative paint ranges. Keen to engage in meaningful conversations with architects, designers and specifiers seeking positive solutions for green building and sustainability-driven design projects, Graphenstone’s technical team will be on hand to show how its richly pigmented and clean-tech paint formulations can help improve air quality, thanks to their remarkable carbon capture capabilities.

With transparency at the heart of everything Graphenstone UK stands for, the company can calculate CO2(e) savings on projects, helping designers, architects, designers, developers, and contractors reach important ESG and net zero goals. With over 18 rigorous and independent building standards certifications such as BREEAM, WELL & LEED, and several harm-free certifications, including Cradle to Cradle Gold, Global Green Tag, and Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort Gold, Graphenstone offers procurement solutions that also help protect the planet.

In line with the theme of this year’s show, Graphenstone will talk to visitors about how its purifying paints can contribute to the societal and economic aspects of projects by helping to improve indoor air quality thanks to the inclusion of Graphene, a unique ingredient made from pure inert carbon and one of the most robust materials on earth.

When combined with other trusted minerals such as lime and silicate, the Graphene element helps actively remove CO2 and air-borne toxins from the environment during the post-painting curing phase, helping walls to ‘breathe’.

Patrick Folkes, founder of Graphenstone UK, says“Our paints offer an advanced 21st-century solution in a historically toxic industry. We know that there is a direct link between the quality of the air that we breathe and our health, particularly in built-up cities. The interest in low-embedded carbon, healthy, and clean-tech paints has rapidly increased since the pandemic, which saw a sharp increase in respiratory-related health issues. However, the air quality in our cities is also deteriorating due to pollution, impacting more severe conditions such as lung cancers and cardiovascular deaths. Our paints help improve indoor air quality, and thanks to a high PH level, these coatings also prevent the appearance of mould and fungus.

How Graphenstone paints are manufactured is as essential to us as the selection of ingredients they contain. This approach sets us apart from those companies offering paints with very high levels of petrochemical-based ingredients. Specifiers ideally need to understand the fundamental difference between these two categories of paint before actual change can occur across the industry.”

In addition to anti-bacterial and odour-absorbing qualities, adding Graphene also ensures improved elasticity, resulting in less cracking and snagging, making it the perfect coating material for interior fit-out projects.

Meet the Graphenstone UK team on stand 241 at the Surface Design Show, 6-8th Feb, Business Design Centre Islington, London.
